Why Volunteer

Volunteers are people who choose to donate their time and effort for the benefit of individuals and the community. Volunteers contribute their knowledge, expertise and skills to aid individuals and the community.

The contribution made by volunteers enables programs and services to be enhanced and extended, which in turn strengthens communities.

Volunteering is a great way to connect with others and to feel a sense of belonging in the community. Time spent as a volunteer can boost social and work skills.

Where can I Volunteer

There is a volunteer position to suit most people. There are numerous areas where volunteers are needed, including, administration, youth services, education, transport, animal care, coaching, aged and disability services. Positions include drivers, gardeners, receptionists, tour guides, puppy educators, community visitors and tutors.

Rather than committing to a regular volunteer position, you might prefer to become involved in events within your community. Event volunteering is a great way for you to support your community, meet new people and have fun at the same time. Become involved in concerts, exhibitions and much more. For upcoming events contact us at Bassendean Volunteer Centre

What we Offer

Our aim is to refer you to positions which you feel are the best match for your interests, skills and availability.

The Town of Bassendean aims to meet and exceed the National Standards and Best Practice in volunteering, through the induction, and recognition of the Town’s volunteers.
